Judges’ Notes

“A scene that speaks to probably every old RPG fan, the little UI and the dark but detailed scene alone was great but what really made it stand out was the subtle but noticeable little wiggle to the animation. Even small little things like the leaves that are not strongly noticeable are animated. What really impressed me was the book and the page behind the two main pages, something that could easily be left blank but was still filled with information to build a nicer overall scene. The use of some of the Sketchfab post-processing features to give the scene the last little extra touch also helped to give it that real adventure flair.” – Alex

“Incredibly creative idea. All the assets can defend themselves on their own and are painted in top quality. I love little details with broken bits and a ripped page. Animation is just a cherry on top. Great work!” – Michalina

“The attention to detail that went into this is exceptional. From the wireframe, to the paint job, to the animations, there is love and polish in every step of the process. Everything fits together and is game-ready, but it’s mostly the idea behind it and the animation that makes it stand out. Top notch!” – Goedele

2nd Place: Hero camp by sashasasha

Prizes

Wacom Cintiq 16 ($650 value)
6 months of Sketchfab Premium ($474 value)
ArtStation: 1 year of ArtStation Pro ($120 value)
$50 ArtStation gift card
40,000 RealityCapture PPI credits ($100 value)
$50 credit for the Unreal Engine Marketplace

Judges’ Notes

“‘Make a backpack? Hell no, I’ll make an entire scene!’ An impressive little campsite scene that goes above and beyond with assets that fit really well together. The paint job is high quality and there is an impressive understanding of how light works with color. I can easily imagine this as a level in a high quality, wholesome game.” – Goedele

“Filled with so many wonderful details, handpainted textures and a pot in the center that reminds me of those lavish anime meals. It feels like a true adventure trip filled with various items taken along the way with the amulet, mask and other items that speak of an ongoing adventure, rather than one that has just started. It’s amazing to see so many parts that feel natural to be there, like the dirty laundry or the axe that was used to chop down the tree next to it.” – Alex

“The scene looks almost like a 2D image. The amount of assets that had to be done is really impressive, especially with having to hand paint all of them. It is full of details and yet, not cluttered. Everything is exactly where it’s supposed to be.” – Michalina

3rd Place: Desert Adventurer by Cat_Xiphos

Prizes

Wacom One ($350 value)
3 months of Sketchfab Premium ($237 value)
1 year of ArtStation Pro ($120 value)
$50 ArtStation gift card
30,000 RealityCapture PPI credits ($75 value)
$25 credit for the Unreal Engine Marketplace

Judges’ Notes

“Not only creating but also designing two characters is a huge amount of work. Even with a limited amount of time, the quality wasn’t cut on at all. I love how they move, and the first impression was incredible.” – Michalina

“This piece is amazing because it’s so out of the box. Just the backpack alone has an amazing design that fits really well in the ancient Egypt theme. The chosen colors work really well together, and the animation is just the cherry on the cake. Overall very high quality.” – Goedele

“I love the little raptor with his full outfit, equipped with potions for whatever dangers might come. The princess is fully equipped with what seems to be a full adventure kit, a compass, rock climbing gear, a little axe and, of course, a little snack bag for Red. I really enjoy how the entire scene feels like in the middle of a sandstorm thanks to the grain and the dome surrounding it.” – Alex
